Jackson will talk about the community-developed URIplay project, which will allow users to access media in precisely the right format on the device of their choice.

Chris Jackson is a consultant and entrepreneur, and is co-founder of MetaBroadcast, a London-based start-up developing the URIplay audiovisual descriptor project. He has in-depth experience of developing strategy and technology for online and offline media. He currently splits his time between consulting work and building a startup focused on social navigation of video content.

From 2001 to 2006 Jackson worked at McKinsey & Co. leading strategy development teams in media and technology. During this time he worked with multiple broadcasters, publishers, TV platforms, independent producers, private equity investors and regulators, and advised UK and global organisations. Outside McKinsey, he worked as a developer and as project manager on a wide range of sites, including an online recruiter, a think tank and a mobile retailer. He also built Web, DAB and DTT systems at BBC Research.
