Herigstad will present a number of ground-breaking interface design projects as well as new, advanced ways to input and communicate with a TV set.

Dale Herigstad is Chief Creative Officer at Schematic, a pioneering Interactive agency based in the US with an office in London. He has an extensive background in broadcast design and branding, and has pioneered advanced navigation systems for Interactive TV and connected screens featuring a unique spatial context approach. From this work new content mediums are emerging that blur the line between TV and games. Herigstad has also worked on numerous content finding and browsing systems for cable and broadband systems, and is working with the teams at Schematic to redefine what television is. He was a part of the research teams around the future of computer interface for the film Minority Report, and is now leading development work in gestural navigation for screens at a distance.

Herigstad is a frequent speaker on the future of media consumption in an interactive and 'many-screen' world of increasingly rich media interfaces, with a focus on design and user experience. He has taught Motion Graphics at California Institute of the Arts, Art Center College of Design, and UCLA. Herigstad is actively involved with the AFI Digital Content Lab, and is a member of the TV Academy, AIGA, and ITA. He received one of the first ITVT Interactive TV Leadership Awards, and has four Emmy awards.
